Manutti Kobo Lounge Chair – Braided Rope and Aluminum

The Kobo lounge chair is comfort taken to the extreme: a deep, soft seat encased in a frame made entirely of hand-woven rope. Designed by Stephane De Winter, the founder of Manutti, Kobo is timeless in style and a true technical feat—the armchair’s curved lines conceal a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in outdoor furniture.

Design and Materials

The secret of the Kobo collection: a structure made entirely of synthetic rope hand-woven around a welded aluminum frame, with a textylene seat frame for elastic support. The 45 mm rope, available in Anthracite (4R03) and Pepper (4R04) finishes, offers both durability and a warm, tactile texture. The armchair is available with a standard or high back—the high-back version adds head support for hours of reading.

Pillows and Textiles

The pillow set is included in the price, featuring quick-drying foam and a water-repellent, breathable inner layer. From the selector, choose the fabric category: C145 Salty White (Cat. B), the collection’s quick-ship fabric, or a fabric of your choice from the Manutti collection, Cat. A or Cat. C. All fabrics are designed for outdoor use—UV-resistant, saltwater- and chlorine-resistant, and washable at 30°C. The frame is available in two rope finishes: Anthracite (4R03) and Pepper (4R04)—please specify your preference when ordering. The Canto 40×40 decorative cushion is included in the set.

Delivery Time

Each Kobo piece is crafted by Manutti according to the chosen configuration, with delivery within 6–8 weeks of order confirmation. For configurations featuring the C145 Salty White quick-ship fabric, the delivery time is reduced to 2–3 weeks.

Maintenance

The synthetic rope and electrostatic-painted aluminum frame do not require seasonal maintenance: they can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap. The cushions are upholstered in outdoor fabrics that are washable at 30°C and resistant to UV rays, saltwater, and chlorine. For the cold season, we recommend the dedicated Manutti protective cover, available as an option.
